Hello, I am Zhengyang Chen. My friends call me Robin. That is much easier to pronounce. I am currently a visiting assistant professor of Economics at Birmingham-Southern College, a prestige liberal art college in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The courses that I am in charge of are Principles and Intermediate-level Macroeconomics as well as Money and Banking.
I earned my Ph.D. degree at the University of Texas at Dallas and was proudly adviced by Prof. Victor Valcarcel. My research centers around the transmission mechanism of monetary policy in the wake of the extremely low interest rate, the rapidly expanding Fed’s balance sheet, and the increasingly agressive fiscal ambition. The information content in money markets and financial derivatives (i.e. futures and options) are less explored in this context. If you have similar research interests, please feel free to connect.
